From Ahwaz, south-west Iran, about 100 miles north of The Gulf:

http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/OIAW.html

They must be grateful for the low humidity but the intermittent nature
of the reports ATM makes me wonder of they're all too knackered to
bother. It might deter the Yanks from invading the place.

Still some way to go to beat the near-100-year-old record of 134F (57C)
at Death Valley. It was 113F (45C) when I was passing by there in July
2006: http://www.jstottphotography.com/photo.php?s=5164

What a stupid fatuous remark. Now if I said England is continuously
being taken over by Muslim nutters who not only generally enjoy our
NHS and benefits system but are intent on imposing Allah upon us all.
Why you then Tudor would feel affronted almost ripping up your
Guardian newspaper.

Just as well I'm not saying that. But I infer by your use of the words
"yanks" and "Invade" as seemingly derogatory remarks that you don't
like America and Americans?

What an absolute shambles. And you think Iraq War 2 was better? Seems
like that was a practice run for it.

Spot on, almost entirely because of their intrusive and ignorant
geopolitics in recent years. Don't forget they'd bomb Sydenham if
they thought it was in their interests. If they do then I hope they
avoid the Golden Lion next Tuesday because there's jazz there. Now
*that* is one of America's best exports.

I was stationed at Habbaniya, Iraq, in 1953( doing my National Service!) and
the temperature regularly reached 115-120F in July. Incredibly, we played
cricket for a couple of hours in the afternoons and I remember that the
water temperature in the camp's swimming pool was around 30c in July.

Jazz is not strictly American, has it came from the west African negroes
that lived in the southern states.
