Drove back from two great weeks at the nations seafood capital, Oban,
and ran into a series of storms from Hamilton southwards down the M74 and right across to home. None too severe, and the rain often heavy, but not exceptionally so. Feels surprisingly warm and humid. First week of hols very warm and humid. Second week fresher, but mainly dry due to showers not forming on the westerly wind until inland. Knew approx where Mull and Jura were, but totally unaware of the expanse of small islands in the Firth of Lorne. Magnificent for whales, seals, porpoises and sea eagles, as well as the worlds third largest marine whirlpool at Corryvreckan....magic. Jim Castle Douglas |
