Default A dull week

With only 22.9 hours of sunshine in Coventry last week (wk32), we had
our dullest week at this time of year locally since 1978.

For the month as a whole so far over the first 11 days, we have only
managed 63% of the sunshine the 30 year averages suggest we should
have enjoyed

No sunshine again here early on Tuesday morning, with overcast skies
and 16.2mm of rain in the gauge up to 8-00am.

If you think that is bad, then I have recorded only 20.9 hours here! And
this is supposed to be 'sunny' Devon. I don't think that the magical 2000
hours of annual sunshine is going to happen this year unless we get a very
sunny autumn.

Total for the month (1st - 11th) now up to 37.3 hours.

Heavy rain last night with 26.4 mm falling between midnight and 5am, and 9.3
mm fell in 15 minutes between 4:00 & 4:15. Lots of localised flooding this
morning with many of minor roads under water.

Quick plug for Roger's page www.met.rdg.ac.uk/~brugge/CURR.html which
is one of the best places to see the month so far.
