The London 2012 website has this to say about the UK's climate:
====================== The entire UK enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year, ideal for competing and training. Temperatures vary from season to season, but very rarely fall below -10C or rise above 35C. The capital's warmest month is July, when temperatures average between 13C and 22C. ====================== Anyone care to venture a more useful forecast for 27 July - 12 August 2012? I'll say The UK's weather has two modes in Summer:- a) unsettled and b) settled. a) Unsettled Rain falls most days, occasionally heavily, but rarely for more than 4 hours continuously. Sunny periods lead to clouds and showers, some heavy. Maximum temperatures are around 23 C in Central London, 21 C elsewhere. b) Settled Dry and sunny. Maximum temperatures are around 30 C in Central London, 27 C elsewhere. For the Olympic period, the probabilities a- unsettled for the whole period 50%; mostly unsettled but some settled periods 30%; mostly settled but some unsettled periods 5%;and settled for the whole period 15%. -- Woodlake |

They should hold the 2012 Games somewhere near Haytor as its always a
stunner of a day, and the gardening is good too really ripe tomatoes this year, there has been so much sun, apparently. Too hot for some as well, its been in the mid teens! I just can't think of anywhere so apt to hold the games. Dave R |
