Default Another cool month (Sept 08)

As of the 20th I'm currently running at a mean of -0.6°C for the month
and after seeing the farming forecast of cool easterlies I see no sign
of this mean anomaly going up.

August 2008 mean ended up -0.2°C down
July 2008 mean ended up 0.0°C (Average)
June 2008 mean ended up +0.3°C up
May 2008 mean ended up +1.2°C higher

Do I see a trend emerging here ?

At this rate the winter months would be more the -1.0°C below the
mean, but I'm sure October will see a reverse in this trend. However,
from a local perspective I can see how one could become a skeptic as
far as GW is concerned as warm weather has just been a thing of dreams
for the UK this year. But one can't ignore the Arctic ice melt and
what effect this is having in the large scheme of things. Uncharted
waters? I will be watching closely how things cool around the northern
hemisphere over the coming months.

The UK is but a tiny, tiny, area and a 4-month trend in a set of small
islands can't really be indicative of anything global! The UK will
respond to GW, however, but in it's own sweet way, being at the mercy
of synoptics on a westward facing continental edge - exactly the place
to be for some of the most changeable and interesting weather in the
world, but we are just too small for our climate to be globally
significant. 8))

Would have been nice to have got these synoptics in February. Probably won't
be seen again till next May!

Last 4 months in Penzance.

September -0.3
August -0.1
July -0.5
June 0.0

It's a long time since I've had 4 consecutive months without 1 being
warmer than the 1971-2000 norm
(A real contrast to the 21st Century so far)

May 2008 +3.0°C
June 2008 +0.8°C
July 2008 0.0°C

The recent nights have been quite chilly which has had a significant
