The reason why I ask is I found this link on Wikipedia showing that
sea levels have risen since the 1980's by about 5cm, and by about 20cm since 1880. Links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_level http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:R...Level_Rise.png Now I have lived in Teignmouth, Devon, England all my life (1971), which is on the coast and has and Estuary called the River Teign Isambard Kingdom Brunel built a railway in the late 19th centuary which runs along the sea wall from Dawlish Warren, through Dawlish and Teignmouth, and along the banks of the River Teign to Newton Abbot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_D...ailway_Company There is no evidence to suggest that sea levels have risen in this neck of the woods since 1880's, you can even see the high water mark on the river bank walls from old photos is still in the same place today. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...%3Den%26sa%3DN |

From BODC data for Lerwick , between 1957 and 1999 mean sea level has only risen 30 mm relative to the rising land there. But for Portsmouth between 1962 and 2002 then sea level relative to presumably sinking Portsmouth then 170mm rise. -- General electronic repairs, other than TVs and PCs http://www.divdev.fsnet.co.uk/repairs.htm Diverse Devices, Southampton, England |
