Day max. just 11.7C (-0.9C from Oct ELTA)
Night min. 5.1C (-2.1C from Oct ELTA) Frequent hail and rain showers this morning, cold enough for a bit of sleet above 550m asl with temperatures at my altitude of 5C-6C during the precipitation. I've no reliable records at those altitudes but given the below average temps and the fact that the earliest snowfall at my altitude since 2002 was on 22nd October 2003, I think that it is a bit early for modern times. The temperature has seemed keen to fall this year so far and it will be interesting to see how the winter pans out. I suspect my "snow falling" days will be up.
