Default Laura's a sponge now?

DC said this evening that the depression crossing the south tomorrow will be
like a big sponge, soaking up all the moisture. If that's the case, it's
difficult to understand why he's forecasting lots of rain - sounds as
though it ought to be a incredibly dry day with southern UK turning into a
desert.
