Is there any way of getting reasonably up-to-date data on English river
levels (specifically, as mentioned, the Severn) other than going via the EA's premium-rate "Rivercall" phone line? What I'd really like would be an equivalent of the service the Scottish Environment Protection Agency provides free on its website: http://sepa.org.uk/data/river_levels/data.htm but I'd settle for much less: something along the lines of "At Worcester, X metres above and rising" would do the trick! If it can't be free, I'd consider a reasonably-priced (ie not using "institutional" pricing!) subscription service along the lines of the radar ones. All I've turned up in some increasingly frustrating Googling has been the aforementioned Rivercall line and River Flow Data from the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, which is very interesting but would be no use for what I want, up-to-date level data at least every 24 hours: http://www.ceh.ac.uk/data/nrfa/river_flow_data.html Am I asking for the moon here? If so, how come SEPA can do it? -- Bewdley, Worcs. ~90m asl. |
