Default [WR] Cold and wet Devon

A sunny start today but showers soon got going with hail. Dramatic skies and
excellent visibility.

Max temperature only managed 9.8°C (after an overnight low of 4.7°C), which
is the first sub 10°C day since the 19th April.

No grass frost as yet but that could end tonight as the temperature is
falling away smartly. Shame as the garden flowers and hanging baskets look
better now than they did in August. Methinks they're going to cop it
tonight.

One consolation, this month is now sunnier than August, sunshine total now
stands at 123 hours.

(18:40), 4.5°C, RH 85%, DP 2.1°C, 1013 hPa (R), Wind calm.

The cold air didn't really reach Penzance until late morning, so it
reached 13.6C around mid morning, then fell back to around 7C in
afternoon showers. Yesterdays radar did rather overstate the amount of
precipitation yesterday (due to much of it falling as hail?) 1mm
between 09:00 & 18:00. A further 2.3mm 18:00 - 09:00 today

MInimum last night 5.4C. Very good visibility and intense colours this
morning. Deep blue sea & sky with a backdrop of some impressive Cb
with large anvils.

One consolation, this month is now sunnier than August, sunshine total now

Looks like we'll get at least 30% more sun than August.

Graham
Penzance
