Vile weather today, overcast, dull with persistent rain & drizzle up to
7mm now, been on for the last 9 hours. Max overnight was 10.6c but fell back down to 7c this morning, currently 7.5c Thank god this mild **** is only going to be short lived a few days of this would do my head. Much prefer the sunny, cold & frosty days of the first 2 weeks of the month anytime!!! Weston Coyney weather station (North Staffordshire) 220 metres asl -- Graham |

Bad luck Graham! Warmest day here for weeks - 13.4C and reasonably bright
at times. Lost the cold but also lost the sunshine as well, only managed 0.8 hours today. A max of 12.3°C earlier this afternoon. Despite the dullness it is such a pleasure to outside without feeling the cold. Shame it's all about to change with a nasty SE wind likely to be blowing down these parts. That can make things really horrible with a raw wind blowing in off the sea. This Xmas Day weather looks like it will be a repeat of Xmas Day 2006. We all went for a stroll along the beach but had to give up after a short while because the SE wind was so cold it made your face go numb. Perishingly unpleasant springs to mind. We had to head for the Old Ship to thaw out. (19:45), 9.8°C, RH 85%, DP 7.3°C, 1031 hPa (R), Wind 6 mph W. ________________ Nick. Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Blimey Nick you're like an old man. :-)
Just checked and Xmas Day 2006 had a max. of 5.1C up here in Haytor, hardly perishingly cold and the wind was just as strong up here being SE'ly! Everywhere is just damp in these bloomin southwesterlies, max. +10.6C which was very mild but give me the dry and genuinely cold weather any day! Roll on the easterlies! Inland it wasn't so bad. Blimey Nick you're like an old man. :-) I'm getting on a bit does tha know, I have t' take things easy and a cold wind plays havoc with me shrapnel. _______________ Nick. Weston Coyney weather station (North Staffordshire) 220 metres asl -- Graham Well Graham we only reached 7C yesterday as well and it was bright with sunny glimpses (your kind of ****) so it happens here too too often as well. You must be joking but I believe I know your not, the first 2 weeks of December were froze my body up less of that the better. I'd have been grateful for even 7C during this Decembers first weeks, most of which were no more than 2 or 3C for west London. You actually LIKE that! You make it sound as thouugh its been gloriously clear and bright light winds with days of unbroken sunshine. Theres gotta be sommat wrong with your head man. Sad thing is you're not alone on here either. So we obviously have completely differing sets of what constitutes our prefered weather type. DaveR westLondon |
