![]() It looks as if the month will end with just 53.0mm of rain, 15% below the 30-year average for Coventry. It may well be the driest December locally since 2005 (42.8mm), though in December 2004 we only recorded 19.8mm all month. Even so, we are still heading for one of the wettest years on record in Coventry with 890.9mm of rain, 33% higher than average in our region. This is just a little lower than the 2007 rainfall total (894.2mm), but otherwise our wettest year since 1912, and the third highest rainfall total since 1895. Steve Jackson Bablake Weather Station Coventry UKwww.bablakeweather.co.uk Not a wet year down here, 97% of the 1971-2000 norm (Mind you July had 306% of the normal rainfall.) It's also been warmer than the 1971-2000 norm. by 0.4C. Coolest year since 2000 - both 11.7C. Graham Penzance |

Rainfall(mm) to 0900 30Dec08
Warwick Wellesbourne Solihull Dec 08 46.2 37.0 46.0 2008 881.0 615.0 647.0 Given that prevailing wind has been SW'ly, some interesting totals for local comparison, thinking of upwind topography.
