Kinloss has been under a blanket of freezing fog for some days now and
yestrday only managed -3.3 C day max. I know Aviemore has been colder but Kinloss is on the coast and usually escapes the worst. The place must be a hoar frost winter wonderland by now. As i type at 11:00 it is still -7 C brian aberfeldy |

As i type at 11:00 it is still -7 C I see Altnaharra is still on -11C with little sign of getting higher. I know this is a notorious frost hollow but if they got a day max of sub -10C that would surely be a notable reading, even for there. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

I have just arrived home from further south and the ground is indeed covered with hoar frost which was sparkling in the headlights. There is no fog here the sky is clear and the temperature falling very fast. Must buy a decent thermometer tomorrow. Anne Fochabers |
