Princetown at circa 400m asl was probably the snowiest town in England this
morning with 3-4cm fresh snow lying. Other parts of the high northern moor (above 500m asl) also had a good cover, shining white in the morning sunshine. Haytor Rocks and other parts further south and east had circa 1cm with just a sprinkling over ice at my altitude but still another morning with 50% snow cover, albeit very thin. Snow/ice/frost persisted at altitude (350m asl) until midday and then melted quickly. Now at 1700 it is cold rain and increasing wind. Temperature here is +5.0C with continuous light rain and a F3-4 SSE wind. Will (Haytor, Devon, 310m/1017 feet asl) -- |
