level snow in the garden measures 31cm. This is deeper than the snows of
Feb 1991 and in Jan 1982. I am fairly confident that this is the deepest snow here since Jan 1963! Still snowing slightly. Peter Clarke Ewell, Epsom 55m |

Peter Clarke Ewell, Epsom 55m The M25 seems to be in a state of chaos SW of London and it is clear why given the snow depth which is quite remarkable. Just had a brief sight of the sun through thin cloud here but now snowing lightly again. Alan Gardiner Chiswell Green, St Albans 101m ASL |

Here in Cranleigh we currently have a measly 7cm or so, though even that was quite enough to produce chaos on the roads. -- John Hall "It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information." Interestingly, the BBC Weather just commented about another 4-6 inches in places in the south-east. We could be pushing to beat Feb 1991 amounts for some, if not beaten already ( Peter's measurement). Days like this make me smile, not only because of the weather but as a lovely yah-boo sucks those who said global warming would mean we wouldn't get notable snow events (oh where are you, Danny of West Kent!!) I see that Peter's measurement is now included in the main news story on www.meto.gov.uk ![]() Days like this make me smile, not only because of the weather but as a lovely yah-boo sucks those who said global warming would mean we wouldn't get notable snow events (oh where are you, Danny of West Kent!!) Indeed. I remember arguing with him many times that a warming of a degree of so, while it would make heavy snow rarer, certainly wouldn't mean that it never happened. -- John Hall "It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information."
