0830 Yucky mild air has returned to Dartmoor. Temp. now +5.6C and fog higher up. Steady thaw. 10% cover now in garden but still quite a lot higher up. Temp. 4-5C at Postbridge and will be 3-4C on high moor in fog. Wind NW F2-3 After the very deep snow and wonderful sunny scenes of last weekend, this weekend will be one for staying in more and keeping out of the damp, foggy and mild stuff. Will (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) Cold front came through circa 1500 and wind went into NE and temperatures have plummeted from a mild feeling 7C to +4.2C now. Thick fog and drizzle. Still managed to find some deep snow patches to walk through on my dog walk, so deep you sunk in but did not reach the bottom. Part of the snow wall I climbed last weekend is still there too, but now too soft to attempt. Still at least now the mild Atlantic air will be held at bay for another night. Will -- |
