Went to Exeter this morning but chose to go the long way round over the moor
via Postbridge. Some of the old drifts on the roadsides, around the rocks and over gorse still look stunning and above 500m asl parts of the moor looked pretty white. Piles of snow all over the place from the ploughing and from where folk have dug out their lanes. Generally though it is starting to look more like normal again. Temp at 1515 +3.8C Will -- |

Here in Thame apart from dying snowmen there's nothing. However, a few miles away on the Chilterns it still looks white above Chinnor - as of this morning... |

I suspect that if that low had produced even sleet/wet snow, rather than rain (and given it did not too far north or west of here, it wasn't too far from happening) there'd still be quite significant cover over large parts of southern England. Indeed. Here on Dartmoor the low produced cold rain below 400 metres and a
sleet/wet snow mix higher up, before turning to snow at all levels for a couple of hours at the end. Didn't get snow any here Will. The rain stayed as rain. Sun's out. Looks like being a lovely day to make up for the dullness of yesterday. ________________ Nick. Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Sunday afternoon... ...there was still quite a lot of snow on shaded and North-facing slopes on top of the Chilterns; then almost nothing till about 5 miles North of Aylesbury when it became rather like the Chiltern summit.
