Default Scotland,camping,frost and clear skies.

I have just returned from a wonderful week touring
scotland .... touring as in uprooting the 8 berth tent
every morning and moving on.
Saturday 23rd saw us drive from flat fenland to a site
near shap (on the m6) ... this location provided a damp
cloudy sunday morning.
Sunday 24th had us re-camping on the moors east of
skelmorlie ... my barometer watch indicated 600 feet
above sea level (with a nice view of bute).
No wind on the moors, lovely warm sunset followed by
the clearest skies i have ever seen (we observed several
bits of space junk moving north/south at 11.00pm and
various other bits in other orbits at other times, plus a few
metorites).

The rest of the week provided boring, fairly dry weather,
(mallaig, john o groats,aviemore)
until saturday 30th, when dawn a few miles away from ben nevis
had my watch showing 2.5 centigrade (a few feet away from
our electrically heated tent).
Sunday 31st was the coldest ... tebay services on the m6, 1.2 centigrade
and a fine white frost on the tent (yep ... my partner got hot in the night
and turned the 2 kw fan heater off, leading to a cold nose dawn).

The last time the tent was frosted i camped near pen y fan and had
a white tent at 9pm in september (last year).

Then i drove my 18 year old bmw back to the fens, to find my
15 year old bmw looking as though IT had done 2235 miles.
Damn that fen dust!!!

So how often do scottish people have to wash their cars due to
airbourne dust????????
