uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged. |

In Colin's absence, a mini-review of yesterday's extremes. Just for
today. Solent MRSC 21.3°C; Heathrow A/P 20.5°C, Gravesend-Broadness (which is in Dartford!) 20.4°C, Thorney Island 20.4°C; Northolt 20.3°C and MY HOUSE in Fareham, 20.1°C (I needed a wooden screen to do better!). None of which will do much to help the August CET break any records. Keswick appears to have been the coldest low-level site at 1.7 deg C but with some high level sites a bit colder. And the wettest was apparently Weybourne with 4.4 mm, although some might prefer Aviemore's 10mm (much of which fell late on the previous day). -- Dave Fareham (West) |
