Default A glimmer of hope for summer.

Although I would like some dry sunny & warm weather atm, it would
concern me that such April's do not bode well for following summer
weather, so I am quite relieved that the forecast models seem to be
pointing to a more unsettled April with low pressure to the south of
the UK.

With so many this year probably having to make do with UK holidays or
no holidays at all, it would be nice to see a good summer for everyone
to enjoy and give some cheer amongst all the 'doom & gloom' of the
past six months.

Ron,

Ah, but my point is a lot of people haven't got the money now to
travel abroad. I know quite a number that have recently been or being
threatened with redundancy. Also, Europe is no longer s cheap option
with the Pound to Euro almost one to one. In fact some months ago I
came to the conclusion that an up market resort was more or less the
same cost in the Caribbean as it is in say Turkey, so it didn't take
much deciding where to go.

England understood, but Cornwall

Last Sunday www.cornwallcam.co.uk/recently.htm
Yesterday www.sennen-cove.com/today2.htm
Today www.minack.com/min02_7ref30.htm
http://www.siankaan-tours.com/englis...n_con_bebe.jpg
www.turnstone-cottage.co.uk/recent.html
& Bilbo http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/a...in_726817a.jpg

and it's only April.

In summer. . . (as opposed to last August)

Sunny again this morning, but with more in the way of sea breeze front
cumulus than yesterday.

A summer that defies the mantra of 'killer heat waves' and 'life
threatening droughts' wouldn't fill me with 'doom & gloom'. Anything that
makes Al Gore, Hansen and the MettO look rather premature in their 'we're
all doomed' prophecy would fill me with smug joy.
However I still agree with Will's forecast.

Surely Keith less people flying, the better for slowing down AGW ;-)

Yesterday www.sennen-cove.com/today2.htm

Todays been updated to today now - if you see what I mean. It does
show up the cumulus development along the sea breeze front rather
well. The convergence zone between the north and south coast breezes
was close to the south coast today, so resorts like St Ives were
particularly sunny. Superb visibility.

Will just had a hunch of the 'D' word.

Didn't Philip Eden make exactly that point after the gorgeous April
2007? And we all recall what a so-called "summer" followed.

This was taken during this week - it has "glorious spring" written all
over it. South Cambridgeshi

Had I tried to take a photo from the same vantage point today, you
might just have been able to make out the poplars through the mist.
