Default Today's model interpretation (13/04/09)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday. Issued
0525z, 13th April 2009.

It still looks as though high pressure will be to the north at the end of
the week, with easterlies or NE'lies as a result. Far eastern areas of the
UK will be generally misty, cloudy and cool, with increasingly sunny
conditions the further west you are. There's a risk of rain over southern
and central parts of England and Wales at first, depending on how far north
a shallow low moves.

ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html
A large high covers Greenland and it ridges SE'wards over Iceland.
Easterlies are the result across Scotland and Northern Ireland, with light
winds from a shallow trough elsewhere. The high moves ESE'wards on day 6,
allowing light NE'lies to affect all of the UK. On day 7 the high declines
over Scandinavia, with ENE'lies for England and Wales and SSE'lies
elsewhere.

MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html
Anticyclonic ENE'lies cover the UK, with a large high to the NNW.

GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm
The UK lies under easterlies, with high pressure to the north and a low over
Biscay. On day 6 the low fills and moves northwards over the UK, with
SE'lies for most. A trough persists over the UK on day 7, with SW'lies for
much of Wales and SW England and SSE'lies elsewhere.

GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html
GEM shows a high over Greenland and a low to the south of the UK, as per
GFS. ENE'lies cover the UK as a result.

JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run shows a high between Scotland and Iceland, with NE'lies for
all.
