Default Today's model interpretation (15/04/09)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Sunday. Issued
0457z, 15th April 2009.

A ridge will bring settled weather to much of the UK during Sunday and
Monday. Into next week there are signs that the ridge may persist for a
while over England and Wales, before rain moves across the whole of the UK
from the west.

ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html
England and Wales lie under a ridge, with southerlies elsewhere. Winds
become WSW'lies on day 6 the ridge builds to the south. On day 7 a low
crosses Scotland, with WSW'lies across the UK as a result.

MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html
MetO brings light winds and a ridge across the UK. The ridge persists for
all areas except Scotland on day 6, with SW'lies across Scotland.

GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm
A ridge covers the UK, with light winds for all. The ridge drifts eastwards
on day 6, allowing southerlies to affect much of the UK; the exception is SE
England which lies under NE'lies. A col covers England and Wales on day 7,
with southerlies elsewhere.

GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html
The UK lies under a high, with light winds.

JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run shows southerlies for Scotland and Northern Ireland, due to
a trough to the west. Winds are light over England and Wales.
