Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Sunday. Issued
0506z, 22nd April 2009. The models show a change on the way. Low pressure to the NW will increasingly dominate the UK into next week, with widespread wind and rain as a result. ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html SE'lies cover the UK with low pressure south of Iceland. The low deepens and moves northwards on day 6, leading to SSE'lies. On day 7 the low continues to deepen, with strong SSW'lies for all. MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html A col covers the UK, with light winds as a result. On day 6 SW'lies and SSW'lies affect the UK as low pressure deepens to the NW. GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm Moderate SW'lies cover the UK, with a deep low to the NW. The SW'lies persist on day 6 and on day 7 a trough crosses the UK, bringing a mixture of strong southerlies and SSW'lies over the UK. GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html The UK lies under a large and slack trough, with light SE'lies. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows a col with light winds. |
