Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Saturday.
Issued 0505z, 28h April 2009. The weekend will be largely settled for England and Wales with high pressure nearby. Further north and west it's looking less settled and the rain is likely to spread eastwards early next week. ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html High pressure lies to the south, leading to WSW'lies for all. The high drifts northwards on day 6, leading to light WSW'lies for all areas except northern Scotland, which lies under much stronger WSW'lies. A weak trough moves eastwards on day 7, with westerlies and WSW'lies. MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html Unavailable today. GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm A ridge covers England and Wales, with southerlies from a trough elsewhere. Scotland and Northern Ireland lie under SSW'lies on day 6, with a ridge persisting over England and Wales. By day 7 a trough moves in from the west, with stronger westerlies for all. GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html The Canadian run brings a ridge over England and Wales with SSW'lies elsewhere. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows SSW'lies for all, with a trough to the west and a ridge to the east. |
