Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday.
Issued 0450z, 1st June 2009. The weekend looks like seeing light northerlies or NE'lies over the UK. In the south it could be quite warm, but for northern and eastern areas it'll be on the cool side. There's a risk of frost inland in the most sheltered locations. ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html A ridge covers the UK, with NE'lies as a result. The winds become northerlies on day 6, with further northerlies on day 7. MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html The UK lies under a ridge, with northerlies and NE'lies as a result. Wind become easterly for England and Wales on day 6 a pressure falls to the south, with a col and light winds elsewhere. GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm NE'lies cover the UK, with high pressure to the north. There's little change on day 6, but by day 7 the high moves NE'wards, leaving a ridge over Scotland and Northern Ireland and northerlies elsewhere. GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html The Canadian run brings northerlies and NE'lies, with a ridge to the NW. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows a ridge over the UK with light winds for all. |
