9th, started on a sunny note, but the cumulus which quickly developed
inland spread out, to give a very cool, cloudy, but dry afternoon. Max 15.4C just before the cloud spread over. Today has been rather different. Prolonged sunshine until 12:30, just enough of an onshore breeze to keep the immediate coast clear of the cloud. www.minack.com/min02_7ref30.htm Rapid cumulus development along the spine of the Lizard, and on the Penwith peninsula, but they've just got bigger, the stable layer which caused the the spreading out over the coast is far less evident. As a result, here on the coast in the sunshine, the temperature had risen to 16.8C by 12:30, feeling warmer in the strong sunshine. There are now some impressive Cb over the land and along the north coast. Graham Penzance |
