Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Tuesday. Issued
0440z, 26th June 2009. The middle of the week looks very warm and humid across most of the UK, with the far north seeing less humid conditions and the easternmost areas staying cooler due to an onshore breeze. Heavy, thundery downpours are likely across much of England and Wales, with more settled weather elsewhere. ECMWF: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...mwf/ecmwf.html ENE'lies cover the UK, which lies to the south of a high east of Iceland. A ridge covers Scotland on days 6 and 7, with a col elsewhere and light winds for all. MetO: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da...ukmo/pslv.html The UK lies under light NE'lies on both days 5 and 6, with high pressure to the north. GFS: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/pslv_frame.htm High pressure lies to the NE, with ENE'lies and easterlies across the UK. SE'lies affect Scotland on day 6 due to a ridge, with a col and light winds elsewhere. A trough moves northwards over Scotland and Northern Ireland on day 7, with SE'lies there and WSW'lies elsewhere. GEM: http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/da.../gem/pslv.html The Canadian run is unavailable today. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows a ridge from the north over the UK with light winds for all. |
