Best storm activity since I've moved down these parts (Stogusey);
First big storm passed approx 1800BST and delivered 14mm rain in as many minutes along with close strikes and attendant loss of mains power (which upset the missus who couldn't watch Murray at Wimbedon!). Then a succession of smaller storms all through the evening/early hours until around 0200BST. Total rain for 24hrs totalled 34.5mm although I suspect the tipper couldn't handle the intensity of the first downpour! Oddly enough almost to the day of my largest measured daily figure, last year, of 37mm. |
