A misty start then the sun broke through and the cumulus built up quickly to
cover the sky 7/8. Then the trusty old sea breeze showed up at around 10:30 and blew all the cumulus inland leaving a clear blue sky overhead and south towards the sea. Another lovely effect of the sea breeze is to stop the temperature climbing too high, just before the breeze sparked up the temperature was climbing towards 24°C despite the cloud, but since then the temperature has been steady at around 22.5°C. The sea breeze has also helped in keeping the humidity from getting too high, this morning the DP was over 15°C but has since been less than 14°C. The consistently warm days since the 12th has helped push the mean max for this month to 21.5°C (1st - 26th). The mean min temperatures have recovered lately with recent warm nights and are now above the LTA. With very warm temperatures forecast until the end of the month this June could end up as warm as June 2006 which had a mean temperature of 16.7°C. (14:55), 22.6°C, RH 58%, DP 13.9°C, 1016 hPa (R), Wind 8 mph SSE. ________________ Nick. Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
