Default Today's model interpretation (28/06/09)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Thursday.
Issued 0451z, 28th June 2009.

The end of the working week will be hot, humid and increasingly unsettled as
a trough moves in from the west. The rain will clear eastwards during the
weekend, leaving cooler, showery weather in its wake.

ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif
The European model brings a light SE'ly flow over the UK, with a ridge to
the east and a trough to the west. There are light southerlies on day 6 as
the trough stalls to the west and on day 7 light SE'lies affect the UK.

MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif
Light winds and a ridge cover the UK. On day 6 the winds become SE'lies as
pressure falls to the west.

GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png
SE'lies cover the UK, with a low west of Scotland and another low over
western France. The Scottish low moves eastwards on day 6, introducing much
cooler WSW'ly winds over the UK. On Sunday WSW'lies persist, with a weak
trough over the UK.

GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif
The Canadian run is unavailable today.

JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run shows a ridge to the east and a light southerly flow over
the UK.

Ending with a bang as always, then.

showery weather in its wake.

I look forward to it.
