North London storm, Sat 27 Jun 2009
Just picked up the data from the AWS at Hampstead observatory.
The rainfall event associated with the thunderstorm dropped 29.7mm in 65 mins, of which 22.7mm fell in 30 mins from 1650-1720z. A further 3.5mm fell later in the evening, bringing the total for the rainfall day to 33.2mm. (The AWS rainfall is adjusted to agree with the manual rain-gauge). Glad I'd done a grass cut and routine cleaning/maintenance there on Wednesday! Philip |
