Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday. Issued
0441z, 29th June 2009. The end of the working week and the weekend will see a transition from hot, humid and possibly thundery conditions to cooler, fresher westerlies as a trough moves eastwards. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif The European model brings a col and light winds for all. WSW'lies affect the UK on day 6, with a trough to the north and there's little change on day 7, with further WSW'lies. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif As with ECM, the UK lies under a col. Day 6 sees the col persist. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png A col covers England and Wales, with cooler southerlies elsewhere from a trough to the west. On day 6 westerlies affect all areas as the trough moves swiftly eastwards. NW'lies affect the UK on day 7 as a ridge builds to the west. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif The Canadian run is unavailable today. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run shows light easterlies, with a high to the NE. |
