Deep blue sky this morning, just a few patches of ac. The forecast
rain is way west of Scilly. MetO may wish to do a bit of nowcasting. The chance of the forecast rain in Penzance at 10:00 seems fairly minimal, and it's already (at 08:15) reached the forecast max of the day. Graham Penzance |

Graham Penzance Multiscreen forecast also showing rain over west Cornwall at 10:00. In St Ives it's also a lovely sunny start. www.nci-stives.org/basiccamera.htm and currently (08:40) 20C even out on the Island at St Ives. Still fine on Scilly. The rain to the west is edging in, but it's still fine on Scilly, so it's a few hours yet before it gets here (if it does) Graham Penzance |

Middle level cloud did gradually increase from the west this morning, but kept fragmenting. A few spots of rain reached the ground around 12:30 (not a single drop in the rain gauge), bit more in the way of blue sky now. Wind's gone calm. Just after the spots of rain the air temperature was 21C & the dew point 18C! (as it is on Scilly.) It's feeling exceptionally & unpleasantly muggy for the Atlantic coast. The SST out in Mount's Bay is currently 17.7C http://www.channelcoast.org/data_man...arts/?chart=75 - so it's looking a bit steamy on the seafront. I'm a bit surprised there isn't more in the way of sea fog banks. A bit warmer on the north coast, currently 24C at Newquay. Graham Penzance |
