Stopped raining here for the last hour, and the sun even made an appearance
but it is getting darker now and the clouds are gathering to the south.

Yep, no fog here in the valley but there is mist/cloud around on the hills
to the east (Fire Beacon), north (Blackdown Hills) and west (Daisymount).

No thunder here at all for this July so far.

You wait Nick. There's more on its way within the hour, promise you!!
Weeing it down in Dawlish and its heading west towards you. Very misty
over the Haldon Hills this afternoon and awful conditions driving down
the M5 and A380.

Now pouring down (started 10 mins ago at 19:10) and has gone very dark.

The A30 was covered in surface water and spray this afternoon whilst driving
home. The windscreen wipers were on fast but still couldn't clear the rain,
had to drive very slowly for a while.

Despite all the damp/cool/humid weather there has been no blight so far this
year. Unlike 2007 & 08. In 2007 the blight was very bad and was the first
time it had occurred down on the allotment (according to the locals) in well
over 15 years. In fact, I couldn't find anybody who could remember the last
time blight had occurred on the tomatoes and potatoes. Last year the blight
was only very mild and didn't really affect the potatoes, and just caused
minor damage to the tomatoes.

Everything growing amazingly well under these conditions. Even the chillies
and toms are bearing fruit. The turnips, runners and courgettes/marrows are
the best I've known for many a year. And the spuds are good too.

July can often be a cyclonic month. Nothing unusual. Nothing to do with
Climate Change. Just look back over the past 150 years. This is Britain not
Spain.
