Light rain/drizzle in the early hours got itself organised into some heavier
stuff at around 5am which lasted until about 11am, then drizzle returned with a vengeance and lasted most of the afternoon. We had the light sort of non-wetting drizzle, then rapidly followed by the horizontal, heavy stuff that wets you from the side in seconds to the meandering medium type of drizzle which doesn't know what it wants to do. Despite all this wet stuff, 'only' 17.6 mm of it fell onto what is now thoroughly saturated ground. Everything is damp, sopping or just soggy. No sign of any blight yet. The sun is out now and pushing the temperature up to the dizzy height of 17.6°C, the warmest it has been all day. I don't think it can actually get any worse than this, surely it can only get better..... (18:40), 17.6°C, RH 87%, DP 15.3°C, 1002 hPa (S), Wind 6 mph SSE. _______________ Nick.
