I'll go along with your forecast, Phil.

Actually, did Heathrow record a gale last winter ? I don't remember issuing
any gale warnings which was somewhat unusual for the season but others may
have done.

P.S. I don't suppose by any chance it said ".... average in most places but
a bit colder than recent winters with more snow than usual in the South
West" ;-)

Jon, I guess there were some strong wind warnings - the data is all at work
so I'll have to check. I seem to remember February in particular, as having
a lack of wind. But overall, it was the calmest winter for several years.
