Good knockabout stuff but not to be taken seriously, like
everything else Rod Liddle has written, done or said.
I wouldn't describe Schafernacker as camp; wet seems a better
description, certainly for his Radio 4 pieces. Disorganised as well
(as we head through the day). That last phrase is the only one he
delivers as if he means it.

Schafernacker is far from camp. A little 'theatrical' perhaps
but far from full-blown campness.
The game show host Dan Corbett is the camp one.

The king ( or is it Queen ?) of 'as we go through the ..'. is definitely
Laura whatshername, I have counted her using that expression nine times in
one two minute forecast ,so would rival desperate Dans use of the term
'parts of' very well.
I wonder if he uses that shovelling movement with his hands when
broadcasting on radio...?

Indeed. And Rob 'Badger' McElwee gets the prize for sheer bizarre
oddity of expression and hair-do.

From other comments on this NG, I'm surprised you are concentrating on what
she says ;o)

Anyone who can work the word "****e" into the forecast can't be all bad.

Tomasz of course originates from Poland.

For all I know “liddle” in Polish might mean “he with a small prick”.
I normally read Liddle on a Sunday but that article was so stupid
(depressions moving westwards into Britain from Ukraine, or something
similar would you believe!) he is now off my list. If he can’t write
sense about something that I do know just a little about, how can I
possibly have any confidence when he writes about something where I
know nothing?

Not completely out of the realms of possibility though! Not sure about
as far east as Ukraine, but anyone who attempted to do anything
outdoors on Nov 1st last year will remember only too well what a low
moving in from the east is like :-)

Seriously though, agreed the article has many slip ups. No one ever
said this month had a 65% chance of barbecue conditions or whatever,
it was the whole summer....
