Default Today's model interpretation (10/08/09)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday. Issued
0507z, 10th August 2009.

The weekend will see low pressure close to Scotland, with wind and rain
spreading eastwards. Temperatures will be cooler than of late, although the
far SE may stay warmer depending on the track of the low. All areas will see
rain, albeit lighter in the south and east.

Small and shallow lows lie over Northern Ireland and to the west of Ireland.
Light SW'lies cover all areas except Scotland, which lies under a col. On
day 6 the lows merge and deepen over Ireland, bringing southerlies to
England and Wales and ENE'lies or NE'lies elsewhere. On day 7 the low
deepens over the Scottish borders, bringing moderate SW'lies to England and
Wales and strong northerlies for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

SW'lies cover the UK, the result of a deep low to the WNW. The low deepens
as it moves ENE'wards on day 6, with strong westerlies for all. On day 7 a
weak ridge brings lighter westerlies.

GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif
The Canadian run brings SW'lies for all, with a trough to the NW.

JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run has a deep low to the NW and moderate SW'lies for the UK.
