Default Today's model interpretation (15/08/09)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Wednesday.
Issued 0502z, 15th August 2009.

The middle of the week looks like seeing a hot plume across much of England,
with humid air dragged up from mainland Europe. Further north and west it'll
be cooler and wetter; the cool weather will slowly spread eastwards towards
the weekend.

Warm southerlies cover the UK ahead of a trough to the west. The trough
moves over Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales on day 6, with southerlies
to the east and cooler westerlies or SW'lies following behind. Cool
westerlies cover the UK on day 7 as the trough disrupts to the east.

MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif
The UK lies under southerlies and SSE'lies, with a high to the east and a
trough to the west.

GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png
A trough covers Ireland, with SW'lies for Northern Ireland. Warm southerlies
cover Great Britain. On day 6 SW'lies affect all parts of the UK as a weak
ridge moves eastwards. There are westerlies for all on day 7 as a trough
crosses Scotland, bringing heavy rain there.

The Canadian run brings southerlies for all with a similar setup to the
other runs - there's a trough to the west.

JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
The Japanese run has strong southerlies and SSE'lies, again with a trough to
the west.
