This image from Eumetsat's metop-a satellite over Argentina this afternoon
shows some interesting wave structures in and near a cold front cloud band. Some billow wave trains can be seen to the north of the front, and a multitude of shear waves in the cloud tops along the front, with some orographic waves south of the front for good measure, near 38S 68W, just north of the two lakes. http://www.woksat.info/etcrh15/rh15-1326-a-xx.html -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK.
