Ian, Raunds, East Northants, 63m amsl. NGRSP9972 I've noticed that, too. I've had no days below 20° but I did get 25.5° on the 5th and 27.9° on the 6th, a brief spike. The mean is 22.4°, which is above normal. Joe Public will still complain and so, for a different reason, will Joe Weathernut. Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |

Average mean max (to yesterday) 19.9C. That will change tomorrow of course as I expect I will be nearing 25C, several degrees higher in the south of course. There has been some sain, ut not on an excessive number of days nor particularly heavy. There has been a reasonable amount of sun too, but no outstandingly sunny days. All very 'equable' many would call it 'boring' ![]() -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Anything vaguely summery is fine for me, i.e., temps above 20C, light winds (unless temp well above 20C), bright, is fine. In the Hampshire area it was decidedly "bad" from July 27 to August 4, due largely to suppressed temperatures, and much better since, barring the odd day. Nick |

Ian, Raunds, East Northants, 63m amsl. NGRSP9972 Same here in the far SW, remarkably consistent since 5th. Ranged from 19.7 to 22.8 5th 20.4 6th 20.3 7th 20.3 8th 20.2 9th 20.3 10th 19.4 11th 22.8 12th 22.0 13th 22.6 14th 20.8 15th 20.4 16th 19.7 17th 21.5 18th 21.6 Mean max for August now around 0.5C above normal. It's been a pleasant month here, bit blustery this afternoon though. Graham Penzance |

No complaints from me either, especially considering what July was like. There was a similarly 'bad' period here from July 26th till August 2nd with low temperatures, two days were only around 15.5C! This compounded with some heavy rain and relatively little sun made for a a rather unpleasant summer week. From a purely 'how does the summer feel' perspective August so far has been pleasant enough, though as we live in very different parts of the country the absolute temperature values we consider to be 'pleasant' will diifer according to what we are used to. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |
