It's part of a halo, caused by the ice crystals from what looks like
Cb anvil on the right - and therefore caused by reflection/refraction
in ice crystals, not reflection from water droplets as in a rainbow.

Can't tell exactly what halo effect it is without details of where in
the sky it was in relation to the sun, however. Nice and bright.

No rainbow that I can see. There might be a "mock sun" or fragment of a halo
arc on the small patch of cirrus in the centre of the picture.

The third picture looks similar to yours. There is also one further down,
posted by Steve on the 13th from Cape Canaveral, which is rather
spectacular.
