The warm dry summer continues in this S.E corner of Essex. This temperature
may be a degree or so high due to microclimate factors but I wouldn't be surprised if Gravesend and other nearby official stations make 30C. As is becoming the norm a walk through the woods shows evidence of heavy leaf fall due to the dry conditions. Dave, S.Essex www.laindonweather.co.uk |

We've already had another 20.8 mm since midnight and it's still pouring. Monthly/annual totals are now 203.4/1231.6 mm. Our highest August rainfall (since 8.02) is 238.8 mm in 2004 and it looks as though that'll be exceeded this year. The lowest is 76.8 mm in 2006. The seven year average is 158.3 mm. -- Alan White Mozilla Firefox and Forte Agent. Twenty-eight miles NW of Glasgow, overlooking Lochs Long and Goil in Argyll, Scotland.
