I think we all did. *I knew it'd be something humorous from Tudor -
although I think he made multiple typo's and meant M16 0RA....

is how the construction workers survive with no water during these

There is some really warm and humid air tied in with ex-Bill's
circulation. Not often you see 15C 850hpa air coming in from the WSW!
Wed/Thurs could be very interesting.

I agree Paul, it shouldn't be under-estimated.

Will, what influence do you think that cool pool of water mid-Atlantic will
have as ex-hurricane Bill crosses it?

("Cool" being a relative term I imagine as it is the SST anomaly I'm looking
at!)

Personlly I think it'll get quite rough.

The track is completely wrong for good surf though. It's forecast to
be 9-12' in the far SW, which is quite big, but it looks like being
very messy & rippy. The big photogenic stuff comes when the
depressions (whether ex hurricanes or not) turn north west of Ireland)
so we get a big clean swell, but with a nice, gentle, warm, offshore &
sunny southerly. Not this time.

Nice morning though, it makes a change to wake up to blue sky &
sunshine. www.nci-stives.org/basiccamera.htm

No weather warnings yet for Bill's passage on Wednesday - odd with the
warnings site's track record this summer and dear Mr Corbett having
described Wednesday as "an X day" and a "write-off" day in the weekly
forecast yesterday.

Interesting to compare EC's forecast from Friday 14th to today's 00Z ASXX.
Bill was an embryonic convective cluster/circualtion at the time (as in the
T+12).

http://www.metbrief.com/Images/bill.html
Impressive, IMHO.

EC has also been fairly consistent in keeping the remants of Bill on a more
southerly Atlantic track.

Jon.

This system is most interesting to a novice. It does not look anything
like the 'normal' low pressure area that we tend to see on satellite
sequences. There is no cold unstable air digging into the rear of the
system.

I notice how random convection seems to be developing in the zone to
the west of the main cold cloud.

Fascinating.

Stuart
