Colin Youngs writes: Warcop Range 7.5°C, Lough Fea and Glen Ogle 7.1°C, Andrewsfield, Herstmonceux and Shoreham 6.9°C, Glenanne, Shobdon and Hereford 6.7°C, Bournemouth (Hurn) 6.2°C, Castlederg 5.8°C. Pembrey Sands 14.0°C, Mumbles 14.2°C, Portland 14.6°C, St Catherine's Point 15.1°C. Interesting figures, when you consider that Bournemouth (Hurn) is not that great a distance from either Portland or St Catherine's Point. It emphasises how much difference being a few miles inland, coupled with local topography and soil, can make. And Shoreham isn't all that far from St Catherine's Point either. -- John Hall "Do you have cornflakes in America?" "Well, actually, they're American." "So what brings you to Britain then if you have cornflakes already?" Bill Bryson: "Notes from a Small Island" |
