1025Z: SSW05KT 7SC 20/16 Q1012=
RMK: DZ overnight. Misty early. Cloud looked like it was going to break up about an hour ago with some blue sky but since become BKN again. Dithered about going to the coast but decided not to.. Sat image shows the southern limit of cloud slowly moving N over the Channel. Phil -- www.layton.me.uk/meteo.htm |

(1055Z): fitful sunshine now - low-base SC breaking up, FEW CU, BKN high-base SC/thin. We're saved! A tiny blue patch has just passed over Evershot, WDorset, from the SSE. The low Cu are really shifting at their level, but the wind down here is fitful, gusty then quiet again. Luckily I can find things to do in the house too. Hugh -- Hugh Newbury www.evershot-weather.org |

(1220Z/13.20 pm BST): almost clear blue sky - strong sunshine - a single patch of Cirrocumulus (lacunosus?) and a trace of Cirrus fibratus - cracking day! The wind is a 'feature', a good F3 edging into F4 & a bit gusty, but given the sunshine, it's the sort of wind that you don't notice much! Still grim over this way, i..e overcast StSc and drizzly. Satellite imagery and webcams to the west suggest a marked improvement is imminent though. Jon (tropical east Devon) |

Luckily I can find things to do in the house too. Now I don't have to. The clouds have reduced to whispy cirrus to the N, a bank of Cu to the W, and nothing S and E. A wonderful afternoon. August is hoping this is what we'll remember. Hugh -- Hugh Newbury www.evershot-weather.org |
