Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Saturday.
Issued 0436z, 8th September 2009. The weekend will see high pressure over Scotland and Northern Ireland, with NE'lies for much of central and southern England and Wales. There should be plentiful sunshine for northern areas, with perhaps more in the way of cloud for eastern and SE England. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif A ridge of high pressure covers Scotland and Northern Ireland from days 5 to 7, with NE'lies elsewhere. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif Light winds cover much of the UK due to a high over Scotland. The high drifts slowly eastwards on day 6, with NE'lies for much of England and Wales as a result. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png High pressure lies to the east of Scotland, with NE'lies for England and Wales and SE'lies elsewhere. There's little change on day 6 or 7. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif A high lies to the west of Scotland, leading to northerlies and NNW'lies over the UK. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The UK lies under light winds due to a large high. |
