Excellent display of high Ac, approaching boundary with Cc,
since about 17z here (south Beds). Mostly it's Ac stratiformis perlucidus, but there are some patches of lenticular stuff as well, again near boundary between Ac and Ci. Philip |

Took the dog out and 10.30 last night, and the sky was quite brilliant. The
normal Northampton glow (4 miles S) and Wellingborough glow (6 miles E) were quite pronounced, but the Kettering glow (10 miles N) was non-existent; pitch black in that direction. Then off to the west, it was really quite spectacular. Above a far off line of cloud on the horizon it was bright blue/white, going through the colours of the rainbow upwards to bright pink. Never seen anything like it. Then in the space of about 10 minutes, the temperature plummeted, it started raining and the effect disappeared. jim, Northampton |
