Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Friday. Issued
0445z, 28th September 2009. The weekend will see WSW'lies over the UK, with cloud and rain in the north and more in the way of sunshine further south. Into next week the more settled conditions will spread northwards, as a warmer WSW'ly flow covers the UK. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif A WSW'ly flow covers the UK, with high pressure to the south and a low to the NW. The low deepens and moves eastwards on day 6, with WSW'lies and westerlies as a result. On day 7 a weak ridge covers England and Wales, bringing southerlies to Northern Ireland and SW'lies to Scotland. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif Low pressure lies to the NNW, bringing WSW'lies for the UK. The low deepens to the east on day 6, bringing NW'lies for the UK. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png WSW'lies cover the UK, with a deep low to the north. The low moves eastwards on day 6, with further WSW'lies for the UK. On day 7 the WSW'lies become much lighter as a weak ridge moves eastwards. GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif The UK lies under westerlies, with lows to the WNW and NE. JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif The Japanese run is again similar to GEM, a low to the NW leading to westerlies for the UK. |
