Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Saturday.
Issued 0424z, 13th October 2009. The weekend will see high pressure moving across the UK, with less settled conditions moving in from the NW as the new week starts. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif The UK lies under a high and winds are light as a result. The high declines and moves ESE'wards on day 6, leading to SW'lies. The winds become southerlies on day 7 ahead of a trough to the west. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif Scotland and Northern Ireland lie under a high, with northerlies elsewhere. The high moves eastwards on day 6 and winds fall light across all areas except western Scotland and Northern Ireland, which lie under southerlies. GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png High pressure covers England and Wales, with SW'lies elsewhere. The high drifts SE'wards on day 6, leading to WSW'lies. On day 7 a deep low to the NW leads to southerlies and SSW'lies over the UK.
